NEC Voltage Drop Guidelines
The National Electrical Code (NEC) provides recommendations for voltage drop in electrical installations. While not mandatory requirements, these guidelines represent best practices for efficient and safe electrical systems.
NEC 210.19(A) Informational Note No. 4
Branch circuits should be sized to prevent voltage drop exceeding 3% at the farthest outlet.
NEC 215.2(A) Informational Note No. 2
Feeders should be sized to prevent voltage drop exceeding 3%, with total circuit drop not exceeding 5%.
