Project Overview
A major technology company required a new Tier III data center in Austin, Texas to support growing cloud infrastructure demands. The facility would house over 5,000 servers with a total IT load of 2MW, requiring exceptional power quality and reliability.
Data centers present unique voltage drop challenges due to the sensitivity of IT equipment and the critical nature of the loads. Even minor voltage variations can cause equipment malfunctions, data corruption, or unexpected shutdowns.
Design Solution
The engineering team implemented a comprehensive power distribution strategy that included oversized conductors, strategic PDU placement, and redundant power paths to achieve the stringent voltage drop requirements.
